Font Suitcases are single files containing a number of related TrueType fonts. A typical font suitcase will contain a number of variations of the same font face including the normal, bold, italic, condensed etc. Packaging all the individual fonts into a single suitacase makes it easier to transfer the entire font from one computer to another.
Font Suitcases are proprietary to the Apple OSX operating system. Font suitcases cannot easily be used on Windows or Unix computers unless the suitcase is broken down into its constituent TrueType fonts.
